Avis Wise Stillwell age 85 of Fairplay, S.C. and formerly Pulaski passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011.

He was born January 18, 1926 In Allisonia, Virginia; he was the son of the late Sylvester and Lula Stilwell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Christine Hollingsworth Stilwell in 2006; Sisters, Larmie Stilwell, Myrtle Mayo, Thelma Harris and Hattie Linens; and four brothers, Woodie, James, Melvin, and Ivan Stilwell.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy with 29 years of service. He was also retired from the former Long Air Dox in Pulaski with 21 years of service.

He is survived by-

Bridgett and Russell Sloan-Fairplay, SC,

Three Grandchildren-
Taylor Sloan,
Keelan Stilwell Sloan,
Cory Sloan and wife, Paige

Sister- Janie Turman- Greensboro,NC

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 2:00 p.m. in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Jeff Aikens officiating.

Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Pulaski VFW Post 1184.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
