Betty Jean Handy Thomas , age 81 of Dublin gained her wings Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at the Commonwealth Assisted Living Facility, Christiansburg. Born February 3, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Howard Luther Handy & Mary Kathleen Bell Handy. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Bobby Lee Thomas.

She was a graduate of Dublin High School and graduated from New River Community College with a computer science degree.

Betty is survived by her

Children - Rena (Brad) Wilson – Pulaski, Pam (Richard) Palmer – Dublin, Karen (James) Boone – St. Augustine, FL

Grandchildren - Caleb (Natalie) Wilson, Courtney Wilson (Winston Zeperlein), Joshua Palmer, Lauren Palmer, Jordan Boone and Nathan Boone *serving in U.S. Navy*

Great Grandchildren - Ella and Lucas Wilson

Sisters - Claudine (Sonny) Lawton, Joyce (Paul) Morris,

Brother – Harold (Evelyn) Handy

Funeral services will be held 1 1:00 AM – Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Bower Funeral Home-Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Jim Linkous officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.
