Betty M. Ratcliff , 93 of Morganton, NC passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Born on July 13, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Grace Nell Cook.

Betty was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church. She worked as a Teachers Assistant at the North Carolina School for the Deaf. Betty loved to watch her children and grandchildren play sports. She enjoyed traveling to the beach and Cherokee. Betty was a loving and caring mother who would do anything for her children.

Betty is survived by her children, Anthony "Tony" Ratcliff (Debbie Moose), Dana Ratcliff (Pat), Danny Ratcliff (Edie), Carol Clark (Bucky), Rhonda French, Rocky Ratcliff; siblings, Ava Stilwell (Jim), Hilda Wirt, Ronald Cook; 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Winifred C Ratcliff; sister, Patricia Davis; brother, Charles Cook.

The family will receive friends from 2pm until 3pm, Sunday, July 12, 2026 at Sossoman Funeral Home (1011 South Sterling Street, Morganton, NC 28655). The funeral will follow at 3pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Terry Robinson officiating. Burial will be held at noon, Monday, July 13, 2026 at Highland Memorial Garden in Dublin, Virginia.
