Born June 12, 1944 in Giles County, he was the son of the late Charles Hobert Akers and Nellie Stowers Akers. His son, Mark Edward Akers; granddaughter, Sierra Akers, brother, Jack Akers, & two sisters, Carol O'Neil and Reba Akers also preceded him in death.
