Charles Thompson Goins, age 81 of Pulaski passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 at his home.

Born December 30, 1934 in Rugby, Virginia he was the son of the late Swillie Goins & Della Spencer Goins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Goins, sister, Mildred Goins Spencer and several half-brothers and sisters as well as a beloved maternal Grandmother.

Charles was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. After moving from Galax to Pulaski in 1963, Charles worked in textiles before moving into construction. Eventually he owned his own business building homes with skill and dedication. In 1974 he began working for Pulaski County as a building official until his retirement in 2001. Many friends and acquaintances will fondly remember him in that capacity. He enjoyed his work and performed it well. Charles was also an ordained minister who served two churches in the Hillsville area for a number of years.

Charles Levi Goins, Megan Nichole Goins and Jacob Benjamin Greer

Margaret Goins Reedy – Galax.

Many nieces and nephews whose lives he has impacted in a loving and positive way.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM – Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Bower Funeral Home-Chapel with Elders Melvin McGrady & Eugene Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Southwest Virginia Veteran's Cemetery, Dublin.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
