Charles Junior Marshall, age 85 of the Newbern Community, passed away Friday, July 25, 2008 at his home.

Born April 18, 1923 in Thorpe, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Jacob Lewis Cast Marshall and Elsie Collins Marshall. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Hurst Marshall; brother, Stanley Winford "Sonny" Marshall; and step-son, Daniel Ray Hurst.

Mr. Marshall was retired from Burlington Mills with 37 years of service.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the Pacific Theatre in World War II under General MacArthur with the First Calvery Division. He was the winner of the Asiatic Theatre Medal with 4 bronze stars, Philippine Liberator medal with one bronze star, and a victory & good conduct medal.
He was a member of the Pulaski Primitive Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 A.M. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with
Elder Don Singleton officiating.
Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin with military honors conducted at the graveside by the Pulaski VFW Post 1184.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski.
