Obituary

Charles Ray "Chuck" Aikens, Jr. of Allisonia,VA. journeyed home to be with his heavenly father on Thursday, June 3, 2010.

Charles served with the 20th Engineer Brigade of the Armed Forces in Vietnam and worked in the security field for many years. He worked the last four years as a driver with the Pulaski Area Transit.


He leaves behind his dearly beloved wife, Betty G. Aikens and many other loved family members.
Surviving are his father, Charles Ray Aikens Sr. and Rosa Lee Aikens of Woodbridge, VA. His mother, Marjorie Corean Porter of Welch, WV., Half Brothers and Sisters; Jerry Porter of Welch WV and Buddy Porter Jr. of Queens NY, Carolyn Porter of Welch WV and Brenda Bailey of Glen Burnie, MD. Son and daughter-in-law-Charles Courts lll and Rebecca Jo Bishop of Christiansburg.

Grandchildren- Charles Rashon Courts, Danesha Monette Courts, Damesha "Mimi" Courts, Oleigha Hypes. Stepdaughter and son-in-law Michelle and Berlin "Randy" Newman Sr., of Willis, VA.
Special Friends-Charles "Chuck" and Angie Day of New River, Julie Martin of Narrows,VA, ,Bob and Nancy Hambrick of Roanoke, and Rebecca and Tony Gravely of Dublin. Also several nieces, nephews and other loved ones.

A family visitation will be at Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Bob White Blvd., Pulaski, Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Dalton and Rev.Dewey Duff officiating.
