Douglas Eugene Akers, age 81 of Pulaski passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 at the Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, Christiansburg. 
Born January 28, 1938 in Pulaski he was the son of the late Jessie & Eliza Akers. His wife of 53 years, Loretta Ann Hall Akers (2015),
great grandson, Braegan Chase Akers, four brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday – June 7, 2019 at the Bower Funeral Home with a graveside service 
11:00 AM – Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Newbern Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family will receiving friends at the Randy's house (2260 Burleigh Horton Road, Draper, VA)
Bower Funeral Homes, Pulaski is handling the arrangements for the family.
