Obituary

John Peyton Porterfield, age 89 of 5607 Blenna Court, Dublin passed away Monday, October 16, 2006 at his home.
Born June 24, 1917 in Pulaski he was the son of the late Benjamin Harrison Porterfield, Sr. & Willie Maude Quesenberry Porterfield. His wife, Rose Zetta "Rosie" Turner Porterfield; one daughter, Betty Jo Porterfield; and son, Douglas Wayne Porterfield, one Granddaughter, Deborah Lynn Flinchum, two sisters, Ruby Beverly & Emily Jones, one brother, Benjamin Harrison Porterfield, Jr. and one son-in-law, Noel Flinchum preceded him in death. He was retired from the Town of Dublin (Superintendent of Utilities) with over 30 years of service. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served during World War II.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Pastor Ronald Gore officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd, Pulaski..
