Obituary

Julia Ann "Judy" Rodgers Koehler , age 87, passed away at her home on November 22, 2025 surrounded by family, friends, and her many pets.

Born April 10, 1938, in Huntington, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James Wells Rodgers, Sr. and Quindora Switzer Herring.

Judy received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her graduate degree from George Mason University.  She was a microbiologist by profession and a founding partner in Fairfax Medical Laboratory, where she worked as the Laboratory Manager.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolf Alfred Koehler, MD; two brothers, Lt. Col. James Wells Rodgers, Jr. and Francis Cecil Davis, Jr., as well as her sister, Janet Kaye Hillman.

Those left to cherish her memory are three sons, Shawn Patrick, Dana Kevin, and Daniel Ray Dunlap, PhD; daughter's in-law, Vicky Lee, Sara Carter, and Karen Dunlap; three grandchildren, Victoria, Kaela, and Cole Dunlap, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and grandnieces.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM – Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the Bower Funeral Home - Chapel, Pulaski. The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Saturday at the Funeral Home.
