Lawrence Oakley Burton, Sr., age 87 of Dublin passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at his home.

Born February 27, 1928 in Pulaski County, he was the son of the late Charles Calvin Burton and Bertha Jane Brunk Burton. He is also preceded in death by his first wife & children's mother, Anna Burton Arner; his wife, Nannie T. Burton; One Son, Lawrence Oakley Burton, Jr., sisters, Mary Crockett, Irene Brunk, and Deloris Smith, and brother, Charles E. Burton.


He was retired from Pulaski Furniture as a mechanic. He was also retired from Ruritan National in Newbern where he was honored for his dedication and service as a Green Thumb employee.
He loved the outdoors- watching the birds and caring for his special cat, Tom.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00 A.M., March 11, 2015 in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with Rev. David Hoover officiating. Interment to follow in the Thornspring Cemetery, Pulaski County.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Pulaski County Humane Society or to the Dublin Animal Hospital, to help any pet in need of care.
