Lucas Wright Powell, Jr., age 84 formerly of Dublin passed away Tuesday evening March 29, 2016 at the VA Veterans Hospital in Salem.
Born August 11, 1931 in Marion, Virginia he was the son of the late Lucas Wright Powell, Sr. & Maggie Hale Powell.

His wife, Lula Alice Barbary "Lou" Powell, sister & brother-in-law, Katherine (Wade) Fielder also preceded him in death.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid organic gardener with a green thumb.

Mr. Powell completed his college degree at Virginia Tech at the age of 61 and was a devoted Hokie Fan.

Lauryn and Tyler Powell.

Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 p.m., April 1, 2016 at the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Gary Hoffman officiating.

Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin with the Pulaski V.F.W. Post #1184 conducting military honors.
Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service hour at the funeral home.
