Major Lawrence Akers, age 99 of Richmond and formerly of Dublin died August 27, 2009.Mr. Akers retired from the Allied Chemical Plant, Pulaski and was a member of the Dublin United Methodist Church for 51 years.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Dublin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Rowland officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.

In lieu of flowers,
Memorials in his memory may be sent to the Dublin United Methodist Church.
