Roley Taswell "Tas" O'Dell, age 86 of Hiwassee passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 in the Lewis Gale Hospital-Pulaski.

Born June 21, 1925 in Copper Hill, Virginia, he was the son of the late Robert Bentley O'Dell and Mellie Duncan O'Dell. He was also preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II and served in both the European and Pacific Theatre and sailed on both the USS William H. Jackson and USS Phillip H. Sheridan.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years- Eva White O'Dell-Hiwassee.

Seventeen Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday 2:00 p.m. at the Newbern Community Christian Church with Pastor Ernie Depew officiating.

Interment will follow at Cecil's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hiwassee with military honors conducted by the Pulaski VFW Post # 1184.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
