Susan Lyon Lavender, age 65 of Draper, Virginia passed away Friday, November 25, 2011.

Born January 26, 1946 in Maryville, TN., Susan was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a BS degree in Microbiology. She was retired due to her long fight with cancer but most recently enjoyed being a volunteer in the Mentoring program at Pulaski Elementary School. She spent many years serving as a pianist and working with children's programs in Southern Baptist churches in the several southeastern states the family lived.

A memorial service will be held Saturday 1:00 p.m., December 3, 2011 in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with Chaplain David Kent officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials contributions be made to Carilion Clinic Hospice, 707 Randolph Street, Suite #251, Radford, VA 24141-2429.
